Adult Programs

Fliteway adult programs are open to anyone age 18 and up. The club offers two adult programs:

Adult CanSkate (Learn-to-Skate )
Adult Figure Skating

Adult CanSkate (Learn-to-Skate)

This group program is for skaters who want to learn basic skating skills and build general confidence on the ice. Participants will learn the fundamentals of skating in a positive environment taught by Fliteway’s NCCP-certified coaches. CSA-certified helmets are mandatory. Skates must be correct size and feet must be able to stand fully upright in them (no pronation/ supination). A light jacket, gloves/ mittens, and clothes that allow easy movement are recommended.

Skaters in this program are not required to pay the club membership fee, but do have to cover the mandatory Skate Canada fee ($65) once per year.

Adult Figure Skating

This program is suitable for adults interested in learning basic figure skating skills and who already possess a good grasp of learn-to-skate (Canskate) skills. The classes are in an individual format - each class is 45 minutes and includes one 15-minute private lesson and 30 minutes of self-led practice. The lessons are taught by Fliteway’s NCCP-certified coaches. Figure skates are mandatory, must be correct size and feet must be able to stand fully upright in them (no pronation/ supination). A light jacket, gloves/ mittens, and clothes that allow easy movement are recommended. Additional private lessons may be arranged depending on availability.

Skaters in this program are not required to pay the club membership fee, but do have to cover the mandatory Skate Canada fee ($65) once per year.

Adult STARSKate 3 Day Package

This program is designed for experienced adult skaters who are interested in training figure skating at a more advanced and committed level. Training days, times, and coaching assignments are based on ice and coaching availability. Registration for this package must be completed in person and is not available online.

$180 per/month (3-day package) September 1^st to March 31^st

Lessons are not included in the fees and are an additional charge
